Bridgeport Train Station Mural

The Bridgeport Train Station project was realized by artist Liz Squillace in collaboration with Chicago artist Darcy Fangi and Norwalk artist Frank Foster Post. The imagery depicts a tessellation in the form of directional arrow tiles. The arrows signify the direction commuters should follow to access both train routes, but also the changing seasons and times of the day, transitioning from day to night and from Spring to Winter. Several landmarks are referenced as well, including Seaside Park, the Ferry going back and forth to Port Jefferson, local community gardens and an underwater scene, masterfully painted by Darcy Fangi, a classmate and friend from Liz’s RISD days. Also assisting on the mural was Jaclyn Podlaski (RISD ‘08). Foster Post took care of the fishing scene that welcomes passengers to the station.
