This 22” x 35” acrylic on linen was painted after a trip to Hermosillo Mexico. Stunned by the variety and beauty of the cacti there, Liz Squillace set out to study them through painting. In this piece the stark three-dimensionality of the cactus thrusts forward in contrast with the fuzzy desert background.
